Hannoband E3 BG1 Expanding Foam Tape
Resistant to Driving rain ≥ 1050 Pa
Manufactured from the same polyurethane foam as BG1, with the addition of multiple internal membranes. This improves insulating, weatherproofing and airtightness properties, while allowing humidity to escape (moisture-adaptive membranes adapt their water vapour permeability to the humidity stress. An increased ambient air humidity causes the diffusion resistance to also increase). E3 BG1 is passive house compliant making it the ultimate expanding foam tape.
E3 BG1 outperforms similar products on the market which often only have a single plastic film which can get damaged (making it no-longer airtight), aren’t breathable due to the material used and often can only be installed in one orientation due to the location of the film.
Flexibility
Expands to find its own level and can seal against uneven surfaces, its permanent elasticity compensates for temperature-related movements of the components as well as tolerances due to construction and materials. Unlike some foams or sealants, it will not crack or split, retaining a permanent seal.
Installation
It can be applied in a single operation regardless of the weather and protects against moisture, both from the outside and the inside. It is quick and virtually foolproof to install as it has no “inside” or “outside”. It has high adhesive strength and expands more slowly than other foams so even on a hot day, it gives comfortable working time to the installer.
Finish
Once installed, you’re left with a clean black border between the frame and surrounding materials, enhancing the appearance of doors and windows.
